
Biography
Amanda Hornig is a vibrant soprano whose work seamlessly blends the worlds of classical performance and musical theatre, pairing vocal finesse with bold, expressive storytelling. She completed her Master of Music in Voice Performance and Literature at the Eastman School of Music in 2024, bringing depth, humor, and lyrical warmth to her portrayals of La Contessa in Le Nozze di Figaro (Eastman Opera Scenes 2024, Annex 804) and Florencia in Catán’s Florencia en el Amazonas (Eastman Opera Theatre 2023, Kodak Hall).

A proud alumna of the University of Delaware, Amanda performed extensively on the Thompson Theatre stage and Puglisi Orchestra Hall, appearing as Anna Gomez in Menotti’s The Consul, Cendrillon in Viardot’s Cendrillon, Monica in Last Days, and a featured soloist in Caccini’s La liberazione di Ruggiero. She also covered Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro and was a frequent soloist in UD’s Fall and Christmas Cabarets.

Amanda has been recognized as a National Opera Association Collegiate Scenes Finalist and received the F. Warren James Memorial Award at the University of Delaware. She has worked with esteemed teachers and coaches including Kathryn Cowdrick, Madeline Raube, Timothy Long, and Wilson Southerland. With a flair for character work and a warm, expressive vocal palette, Amanda brings authenticity, musicality, and heart to every role she embodies.
